1947. The ravages of Partition have compelled an old artist, Husyn Naqqash, to sell his ancestral home in Western India and move with his family to Karachi, Pakistan. When Kishorilal, a stoic and stone-hearted man, who has bought the house, comes to know that Husyn is a well-known miniature painter and has an invaluable and rare miniature collection, he schemes to get hold of the collection. But all is not what it seems and there is a secret about the collection that Husyn’s family is holding back. Not only from Kishorilal… but also from Husyn.
About Kaushal Oza
Born and raised in Bombay, Kaushal Oza worked on the inter-collegiate theatre circuit for five years. He then graduated in Film Direction from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII, Pune).
Kaushal has been twice awarded the National Film Award. In 2010, as Best Debut Director for his short film Vaishnav Jan Toh. And in 2013, his short film Afterglow won The Best Short Film (Family Values) Award.
Together his films have won 15 Best Film Awards, and screened at many International Film Festivals. Afterglow has been consistently rated as one of the best short films to watch on YouTube on popular online portals and is nearing 1 million views.
He is currently in development of his first feature film titled Little Thomas which was selected for the NFDC Screenwriters Lab and mentored at the CineKid Film Festival, Amsterdam. It was also a part of the NFDC Co-production Market at Film Bazar.
