About Samudranil Chatterjee
Born in the small town of Durgapur, India and raised in sunny Brisbane, Australia,
Samudranil is a Los Angeles based Cinematographer who occasionally directs pieces close to his heart.
His narrative work has played at various international lm festivals around the world
including SXSW, Clermont Ferrand, Palm Springs, Brooklyn, amongst others. As a
Cinematographer, he has photographed over two dozen narratives including short
lms and feature length series, as well as multiple national and international
commercials as well as a series for Netfix.
Samudranil has an empathetic eye towards capturing raw performances and is an
advocate of strong visual language that can support the story and performances of a
lm. He is a graduate of the American Film Institute’s (AFI) Masters Program and
speaks English, Bengali and Hindi proudly.
