Harv Sihra shares his experience with Akshay Kumar and shares the advice he received: “Keep working hard, somehow, someway success will follow you in life. I promise you that.”

“This past year I had the opportunity to work with one of the biggest movie stars in the world, Akshay Kumar. It was surreal to work with a bonafide movie star, but more importantly it was an experience that I will forever cherish. I landed in Mumbai and had preliminary talks about the movie ‘Brothers’ in October of 2014 and got casted in early February 2015. It was easily the hardest round of auditions I have done and the odds stacked against me with over two thousand submissions. I remember driving to the mecca of filmmaking in Mumbai, film city and auditioned in front of Akshay Kumar and Jackie Shroff. A week later I was sitting at Dharma Productions going through wardrobe and my scenes. On my way out I bumped into Karan Johar, and thanked him for giving me a chance in his film. It all felt like a dream, but, the highlight of this process was completing MMA training with Akshay. For three weeks, Kumar and I went through a rigorous boxing and martial arts workout. We both would be drenched in sweat at the end of the workouts and as I would head home he would be packing up to go film in Delhi, Rajasthan and even Rome. I was amazed by the hard work and focus this man has, and that’s when it occurred to me, he is who he is because he puts in the work, and that’s what I will take away from Akshay the most. On set, he realized I was somewhat nervous but he made me feel at home and talked me through the whole scene step by step.”
